Win a Hart-y Meal for Two

The White Hart lies in the quaint village of Maulden - a picturesque sight with a thatched roof, exposed wooden beams and a large exterior seating area. Since being taken over by new management in August 2009, this popular country pub and restaurant has undergone a transformation putting it firmly back amongst the best eateries in Bedfordshire and serving food that looks every bit as good as the venue.

Husband and wife team, Richard and Karen Bray, have taken the helm and brought in some talented friends and family to re-launch the venue. The couple's son Daniel Turner and his wife Narelle have joined the team with Daniel having considerable experience as soux chef at The Fox at Harpenden and head chef at The Wicked Lady in Wheathampstead, which achieved Mitchells and Butler's 'Centre of Excellence' status. Radu Luca, formerly the soux chef at The Wicked Lady, has also joined the team, along with his wife Elena.

All of this culinary expertise is clearly visible on the menu which caters for almost everyone's tastes with sharing plates, fresh fish dishes, spit roasts, steaks, pastas and stone baked pizza. There is also a White Hart Whopper - a handmade 9oz premium beef burger with Dijon mayonnaise, sliced gherkin, tomato and onion chutney, served with chips. As a healthy alternative there is even a super salad that is perfect for those seeking the ultimate nutritional meal.
